Duplex Plating

What is Duplex Plating?

Duplex plating is a two-step layering process that enhances performance properties. The coating is usually a blend of two different substances, for example nickel/teflon or nickel/chrome, although USF can also provide nickel/nickel or chrome/chrome plating as well.

Substrates for Duplex Plating

Duplex plating can be applied to a wide variety of materials (substrates) including:

  • Stainless Steel
  • Cast Iron
  • Aluminum, for which we have a dedicated line
  • Copper
  • Bronze
  • Nickel
  • Steel

Not all duplex plating works equally well on all substrates and, depending on how your part is being used, we may have a definitive suggestion for the most quality finish. For help with this, or if you don’t see your material listed above, give us a call.

Our Production Capabilities

Production capabilities for duplex plating vary between processes. Please contact us with your specific request at 1-800-453-2786.

From start to finish, we understand that every step of the production process is critical to achieving the standards both we and our customers expect. That’s why we can also provide pre- and post-plating services upon request such as abrasive blasting, buffing and polishing, centerless belt-sanding, and stripping. See Extended Services for a complete list.
