For several years, a major U.S. rebuilder of molds and dies turned to United Surface Finishing to chrome plate their dies and molds. But when we developed USF-Excel, a proprietary low-phosphorus nickel plating solution, we realized that we could better serve our long-term client by suggesting that they switch to nickel.
Since 2005, a major rebuilder of molds and dies has been a one-stop shop for design, welding, fabrication and machining of OEM component parts located in Ohio. They service the plastic blown film and pipe industries, offering cleaning, repair, reconditioning, replating, polishing, and assembly.
For several years, the company has turned to United Surface Finishing to chrome plate their dies and molds. But when we developed USF-Excel, a proprietary low-phosphorus nickel plating solution, we realized that we could better serve our long-term client by suggesting that they switch to nickel. Beginning with their blow molds, which are used to produce plastic bags and garbage bags, we believed that USF-Excel plating would allow us to achieve a more uniform coverage that was more corrosion-resistant at a potentially lower cost. We floated the idea, and they were willing to give it a shot.
Flash forward to now. The client has us plating several of their parts in USF-Excel and the team is thoroughly pleased with the results, not just because of the quality of work that we’re providing at United Surface Finishing, but because they also know that we’re a trusted partner, looking out for their interests and offering solutions that make their business better.
